Participants / Competitors


No participant / competitor, and/or their corner, shall be allowed to participate in an event while consuming and/or under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

No person under the age of eighteen (18) years of age shall be licensed to participate in any boxing, MMA (pro or amateur), wrestling, or Toughman in the state of Alabama. All licenses shall expire on December 31 of the year it was purchased. Applicants for competitors’ licenses shall be in good physical health and properly trained to receive the license for which they are applying. Additionally, applicants that do not pass the pre-fight physical or provide clean blood work may not be granted a license to participate in AAC sanctioned events.

When applying for a license through the AAC, please submit the following items with your application packet:

  • Fully completed application (including Social Security Number)
  • A clear copy of your photo ID (Driving or Non-Driving)
  • You application fee

All participants licensed to compete in Boxing, Pro/Am MMA, and Toughman are subject to Drug Testing. See below for the AAC Drug Testing Procedures for drug testing and the AAC Drug Testing Policies and Penalties. Note: the penalties listed are the suggested punishments for a failed drug test, as categorized by the type of drug detected in the failed test. Penalties for violating the AAC Drug Testing policies are at the discretion of the AAC Commissioners and may be greater or less than the suggestions outlined below.
